Longs, South Carolina (WBTW) – Holly County Rescue Team responds to multiple calls from people involved in floods over the weekend.
A driver trapped in a vehicle off Highway 31 in Longs was safely pulled out, injured and taken to the hospital. The North Myrtle Beach Rescue Team assisted in the water rescue on Saturday at around 7:41 pm.
According to the HCFR, the driver was trapped about a quarter mile down the flooded road. The first responders approached the person and helped to get the person in the ambulance, treat them, and take them to the hospital by ambulance.
At about the same time, the HCFR crew answered a similar call in the area of the Old Leaves Ferry Road. There, two drivers had to be helped from their car, which was underwater.
At 7:05 am on Sunday, the HCFR crew was dispatched to Conway’s Lees Landing Circle for another rescue request. During the course of the two trips, the crew of the Marine Rescue team loaded a resident, a few cats and a few dogs from the flooded house for safety.
The HCFR crew has been working to assess the potential floods in their respective coverage areas.
