Taylor County, Kentucky (LEX 18) —Three weeks after the deadly tornado struck, another storm struck the Campbellsville area.

Now, emergency management leaders say homes and dozens of other buildings have been destroyed or somehow damaged.

“Maybe it was worse. It was a blessing daytime. It was dark three weeks ago. I came early in the morning. Most people were still asleep,” Barry T said. Smith, Judge-Taylor County executive.

Emergency management officials say the county and parts of Campbellsville have suffered considerable damage, with an estimated 40% of the city unable to power at night.

There are about 10 heavily damaged homes in the Woodhill area. According to officials, there are about 40 to 50 other buildings in the county that are similarly damaged.

Our crew at Campbellsville reports that there were people driving these neighborhoods asking someone if they needed help or even water, showing that the community is gathering when they need it most. ..
