Hundreds get together in support of Alzheimer's patients – Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque, New Mexico(KRQE) – Over 1000 New Mexicans strapped on Saturday to help families and their loved ones facing Alzheimer’s disease. On Saturday, volunteers went to Mariposa Park in the west and roamed a 2.5-mile truck, remembering those who died of illness.

In New Mexico alone, more than 43,000 people have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Organizers even want their caretakers to know about the resources available to support them. “I have [sic] More than 100,000 unpaid caregivers working in the region are raising children and caring for their elderly parents, as a quarter of them are part of the sandwich generation, “said Central New Mexico.
