Racine — Wisconsin deer hunters are preparing to land in the woods on Saturday, marking the beginning of the state’s gun deer season.
However, as the first day approaches, ammunition becomes difficult to obtain.
Joel Minetti, archery manager at Racine’s Shooters Sports Center, said: “I can’t remember even the last decade when the ammunition shortage we saw was totally seen.”
According to Minetti, this shortage has had an impact throughout the year, as many prepared hunters expected.
“I think there is a good turnout and a good chance for those who still have the family tradition of driving deer,” he said. “I don’t think some people are in such a big group.”
