Las Vegas (KLAS) — A behavior therapist at the Las Vegas Crescent Academy has been accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy with autism, North Las Vegas police told Team I.

Police released a news release Thursday, stating that police had arrested Amy Gabriella Villarreal, 29.

The Crescent Academy describes online as a community-based behavior therapy program for individuals with autism spectrum disorders.

Detectives said Villarreal worked at the Autism and Related Disabilities Center (CARD) in Las Vegas and two other centers for people with autism spectrum disorders, including the Hamilton Center Mental Health Clinic in Henderson. ..

Investigators said they believed there could be other victims due to the situation in which they were working with vulnerable people.

As of Friday, Villarreal was charged with two counts of sexual assault, one count of lewdness by minors, and one count of child abuse.

Team I asked all three schools for comment.

“We are aware and concerned,” replied the Hamilton Center leader. “We take all allegations seriously and cooperate fully with the authorities.”

Neither the Crescent Academy, where Villarreal was a current employee, nor her past employer at CARD responded, police said.
