Nashville, Tennessee (WKRN) — A man in Nashville says someone fired at his car while driving on Interstate 65. It happened last week when I was approaching the exit of Wedgewood Avenue, just south of downtown Nashville.

The man wanted to remain anonymous for his own safety, but said he had done nothing to provoke other drivers, and I don’t know why someone would fire a pistol into his car.

“I was driving with my business in mind. I didn’t blow my corner. I didn’t do anything to anyone,” said the man.

The man says the gunshot came from an older model, a white SUV with raised tires.

“He got up right next to me and was pulled a little in front of me. The next thing I know is that the colored window on the passenger side slowly rolls down. He has a black gun. Stick out your arm and pop! I shot my car in the hood and took off, “said the man.

However, the Road Rage case does not necessarily include guns. Colombian fire rescue spokeswoman Hannah Miller says the crew has tackled several accidents in recent months as a result of aggressive driving.

“Road rage cases are on the rise nationwide, and unfortunately we have experienced it here in Colombia, Tennessee,” Miller said.

Miller says a man was recently airlifted to a local hospital after a road anger incident. She says she cut another car in retaliation for the man’s amputation, but lost control of her. It turned over and he was kicked out on the highway. He later died of an injury.

“This kind of accident can be completely avoided. Sometimes we can understand that we are all out. We are in a hurry to go somewhere lately. Sometimes it can be frustrating.” Said Miller. “I want to remind every driver to take a deep breath. Relax. It can be frustrating, but it’s not worth hurting yourself or others.”

The Nashville guy shot with the I-65 says he’s lucky to be alive and uninjured, but hopes someone else doesn’t.

“They shot me. They may shoot you next,” said the man.

Road anger and aggressive driving are both criminal offenses punished by law. If you know anything about shooting with I-65, call Metropolis or Crime Stopper (615) 74-CRIME.
