IAF, EURATEX, ABIT collaborate at international content conference

The International Federation of Apparel (IAF), the European Federation of Apparel Textiles (EURATEX) and the Brazilian Association of Apparel Textile Industries (ABIT) have announced their cooperation on the content of the annual international conference to be held in the fall of 2021. It provides supplementary insights into the huge transitions that the apparel and textile industry is experiencing.

The IAF and ABIT gave the conference the same theme: “Transition of the Global Fashion System”. The theme of the EURATEX conference is “a new paradigm for the European textile and garment industry” and therefore emphasizes the transition.

All three associations recognize the urgency and importance of the ongoing transitions of the apparel and textile industries. Through their collaboration, they can offer free programs to viewers around the world, each focusing on different elements of this transition, the entity said in a joint media release.

The focus of ABIT is on people, exploring the transition to more guided design through data acquisition, personalization and communication in the digital environment. ABIT’s international conference will be held on October 27th and 28th. Visitors from all over the world can join online to hear a mix of Brazilian and international speakers. IAF and EURATEX are holding consecutive meetings in Antwerp, Belgium, on November 8th and 9th, respectively. Meetings will be available online for visitors whose pandemic-related restrictions may prevent them from visiting the Antwerp venue. Antwerp is within 50 km of Brussels and the EU Commission has published a highly ambitious environmental and social agenda aimed at large-scale transitions that will have a significant impact on the industry.
