Henderson, Nevada (KTNV) —The city of Henderson announced on Wednesday the temporary closure of some park playgrounds and toilets due to increased vandalism.
A photo of the Henderson Police Facebook page shows multiple sections of artificial turf being torn in one playground, with the sub-bass underneath appearing to be exposed.
“We are working hard to provide beautiful parks and spaces for the community to enjoy,” officials said. “Unfortunately, not everyone has good manners, as you can see from this picture.”
As a result, police are increasing patrols in various parks and have announced the next closure.
- The Averino Park playground will be closed until February to repair damaged equipment. According to police, the park’s toilets will be locked from 7 am to 3 pm on weekdays.
- The toilets at Paradise Point Park will be closed “until further notice”.
Police also called on residents to contact them to report dangerous activities in local parks.
