India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal will lead a national team at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, May 23-25. Sessions are planned in the India Lounge based on India’s strategic advantages, existing and future incentive architectures, industry investment potential and market opportunities, in line with government priorities.

Goyal also holds a portfolio of consumer issues, food and public distribution, and textiles.

The delegation of India includes Mansukhlal Mandaviya, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Chemicals and Fertilizers. Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Oil and Natural Gas, Housing and Urban Issues. Prime Minister and Senior Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana. And a high-ranking central government official.

Many senior industry leaders, including Hari S Bhartiya, Amit Kalyani, Rajan Bharti Mittal, Ronnie Screwvala and Salil S Parekh, will also participate in the WEF deliberations.

This event will help further strengthen India’s position as an important and relevant stakeholder in shaping the world’s story, especially when India becomes president of the G20 in 2023. WEF is also a platform for predicting India as an attractive investment destination.Its strong economic growth and stable macroeconomic indicators

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the WEF and its 35-year collaboration with India.

Key topics covered in the session include business reform policies and ease, energy shifts, the digital economy, opportunities in India’s national monetization pipeline as entrepreneurial destinations to shape the unicorn story, and in the digital space. Research on the healthcare ecosystem, according to the official release, which includes talent growth, emphasis on innovation.

Goyal will also visit the UK from May 26-27 to discuss the progress and future of free trade agreement negotiations with the UK Government and businesses.
