Indian textile company GHCL Ltd invests Rs 50 billion in Tamil Nadu

GHCL Limited, India’s leading chemical and textile company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Tamil Nadu for investing 500 chlores. GHCL Ltd has proposed installing a 20 MW solar park near Musiri in the Tiruchirappalli district to carry out efforts for sustainable business practices and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Currently, 52% of the energy requirements of GHCL’s yarn business are met by renewable resources. When the project is completed, about 70% of the GHCL energy required for the spinning business will come from renewable energy.
