Inflation, supply chain issues impact Omaha-area fireworks sales – Omaha, Nebraska

La Vista, Nevada (KMTV) — Inflation and supply chain issues are affecting everything we buy, and fireworks are no exception.

“Yes, I think it’s definitely going up with everything else,” Marci Luczynski said. “There is always demand in that supply chain.”

The impact is not felt by consumers alone. Vendors feel it too. At La Vista, fireworks tents set up by the local cheering party Beyond All Stars are trying to raise money for new uniforms.

Seventh grade Sophie Anderson said he was in the group and had some challenges.

“Prices are very high because prices are high and people don’t buy that much,” Anderson said.

Despite these effects, consumers said they didn’t want to stop July 4th. They said they are planning to cut down somewhere else to make up for it.

“Maybe I’ll eat out a little less,” said Nick Alm. “Fireworks are still a priority, at least in our homes.”

For Anderson and the cheering squad, while maintaining a positive attitude, he acknowledges that challenges can influence funding goals.

“I don’t know exactly how much money I’ll get,” Anderson said. “We hope that half of the uniforms will be paid.”

Anderson’s tent is near the intersection of S117thst and Harrison St. The group will open on the 4th for last-minute shoppers.
