Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — Last month, a prisoner found unresponsive in his cell died, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
According to the department, on November 27, a correctional officer found an unresponsive prisoner in his cell while patrolling in an adult detention facility in Pima County around 12:00 pm.
Police officers took emergency life-saving measures until the arrival of Tucson fire department medical personnel, PCSD says the prisoners were taken to the hospital.
Throughout the investigation, the detective found no signs of trauma or suspicious situations.
In December, the prisoner was sentenced to death in the hospital. The department identified the prisoner as 37-year-old William Omegar Jr.
Investigation is ongoing.
