Corpus Christi, Texas — There are several steps in the recruitment process to become a Corpus Christi police officer. First, the applicant must take a civil service exam and a physical fitness exam.
So far, recruits are working at police academy. As of last week, more than 200 applicants have taken a physical fitness test. CCPD recruiter Imelda Rjasko has three parts to the fitness test and must pass all on the same day to move forward.
“Bench press, Illinois’s agility run is a short run that gets out of the ground in a prone position and sprints in different directions. Then there are miles and half runs,” says Rjasko.
Saturday in May. The Corpus Christi Police Department will host a physical fitness test at 8:30 am.
