Adams County, Colorado — A fuel tanker crashed into the northern backyard of Commerce City on E. 96th Avenue and Highway 2 on Monday morning.
E. 96th Avenue is closed in this area, and both directions on Highway 2 are closed between E. 88th Avenue and E. 104th Avenue.
The tanker collided with the fence and lay down in the backyard at a 90 degree angle.
Clint Nichols, chief of the Commerce City Police Department, said four vehicles, including tankers, were involved.
One person was injured and rescued, according to South Adams Fire. The man was taken to the hospital. The other four were treated and released on site.
The train stopped on part of line 96 near the accident site, but it is not clear if this was related to the accident.
As of 7:45 am, no one is injured. The cause of the crash is not clear.
