Due to turquoise level restrictions, the park can fill up to 75% of its capacity.

John Traub, general manager of isotopes, said:

Opening these gates after the 2020 season has been cancelled is emotional.

“We lost a very dear member of our team of staff in November due to COVID complications,” Traub said. “People who have been with us for nearly 20 years. It’s difficult and tomorrow shows that you know some chance of closure.”

“Baseball has always been part of the country’s healing process, and certainly now it’s never been more important to provide that healing to the community,” Traub added.

New Mexico United will play the first home game of the May 15th season.

Team owner Peter Trevisani is happy to welcome more people to watch the game. But he said safety remains a priority.

“We are really full and not completely full, but we are expected to be half full and certainly noisy,” he said.
