Driver Terrell Cohen told News 2 that he had two passengers at a Citgo gas station when the car was shot.
“It was so noisy that it felt like the hail hit the car. Later I realized they were shooting the car,” Cohen said.
He tried to take a teenager beaten to the hospital, but had to pull him to Douglas Avenue when the tire punctured.
“I think his parents appeared and took him [to the hospital]”Cohen said. “He wasn’t deadly … but it was a lot of bullets.”

Other ride-sharing drivers said they were worried after hearing about the incident.
“It’s definitely really scary, like when I heard that. That’s what you’re thinking when driving like 1am. It’s really dark and probably the best. It doesn’t seem to be in the area of. Rideshare driver Jonathan St. Louis said.
St. Louis drives Lyft, Uber, Uber Eats and Postmates. He said midnight rides are usually when they are seeing the highest demand. Companies are doing background checks on drivers, but passengers can’t tell who’s in your car.
“You really are in someone else’s car and there is a lot of trust between the passengers and the driver, and between the driver and the passenger,” said St. Louis.
St. Louis is worried about the incident on Saturday night, but said he loves his job as a ride-sharing driver and can’t stop holding the steering wheel.
“It’s really scary to hear, and obviously my heart is directed at those people, because … it’s just one of the things that’s happening a lot right now. Like every day. To do this in a car is a kind of risk, “said St. Louis.
News 2 contacted Lyft for comment on the situation, but did not respond.
