Jackson County, Kentucky (LEX 18) — When restrictions expire across the Commonwealth, restaurant and event venue owners are preparing for full operation.
The Kentucky summer festival season is also preparing for the sun without hesitation, including a weekend festival at Bed & Breakfast in Jackson County.
When Lake Gregory and Lake Ladies retired, they decided to find a way to bring the world to their countryside.
Located between the cities of Berea and McKee, they transformed a family home in Jackson County into an oasis in the middle of where.
“Forks wants to come to an area where he can have a lot of open space, especially now,” Gregory Lakes said.
Built on a 60-acre Angus cattle farm, the clover bottom bed and breakfast remained open during the pandemic.
This weekend, they are inviting the community to their farm for an art fair.
“There is a pretty good range of potters, woodworkers, jewelers, painters, sculptors,” Gregory Lakes said.
Everywhere in the house, the Lakes exhibit their own paintings and crafts.
This is the art they refined here in Jackson County, and as more people come to visit, they want to see money flow from their farms to McKee, Sandgap, etc. ..
“You can meet people of all kinds from anywhere. It’s great to make new friends, be proud of where we’re from, and show them what’s here,” Lakes said. I did.
The festival is from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, June 12th.
The address is 203 Hurst School Road, McKee, KY40447.
