January 6 Commission votes to insult Banon – Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky

Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky 2021-10-19 20:07:16 –

A committee investigating the January 6 attack on the US Capitol voted 9-0 to adopt an insult report against Steve Bannon.

This is the first process in which Banon is accused of contempt of Congress for opposition to a congressional subpoena.

“The Special Committee does not tolerate the rebellion of the subpoena, so we must proceed with the procedure to introduce Mr Bannon for criminal insults,” said Bennie Thompson.

At a hearing on Tuesday night, Congressman Liz Cheney directly called on Bannon and former President Donald Trump for their role in fueling the lie that the presidential election was stolen.

She also called on her fellow Republicans to refute the lie.

“I know there isn’t enough evidence of fraudulent elections to overturn the elections. I know that Dominion’s voting machines haven’t been destroyed by foreign forces. I know, “she said.

The House of Representatives must vote on whether to detain Banon for contempt of Congress. Once adopted, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will certify the report of the Federal Attorney Office for the District of Columbia, which can be formally prosecuted.
