Jayson Tatum scored 22 points in eight rebounds, and the Boston Celtics rode the Dominant Middle Quarters on the Charlotte Hornets route 116-86 at TD Garden on Sunday.

PJ Washington was restricted after being asked for a third personal foul in the middle of the third quarter. He finished with 3 points, more than 8 points below the season average. Blood Wanamaker, Cody Zeller and Jalen McDaniels all scored 7 points.
Sunday’s defeat was second in Charlotte’s week with more than 22 points. The Hornets lost a 111-89 decision to Brooklyn on Thursday.
