Joey Chestnut goes for 15th Hot Dog Eating Contest crown – Tampa, Florida

For the first time since 2019, thousands are expected to witness the annual Nathan’s Famous July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island.

Returning to defend his title is Joey Chestnut, who won the 14th title in 2021 by consuming 76 hot dogs in the world record 10 minutes.

On the women’s side, 2020 champion Miki Sudo is back because she was unable to compete in the 2021 tournament due to her pregnancy. Sudo consumed more than 48 hot dogs at the 2020 Games in a closed room. Active female champion Michelle Resco has returned to defend her title after eating 30.75 hot dogs a year ago.

“Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest is a fundamental aspect of the American experience and we are excited to return to the flagship store,” said Phil McCann, Nathan’s Famous Vice President of Marketing. Says. “We look forward to welcoming a traditional crowd of 35,000 spectators after two years of expectation.”
