Albuquerque, New Mexico (KRQE) – Former UFC fighter and Albuquerque native John Dodson plans to try Bare Knuckle Boxing in the near future. Dodson hasn’t fought in the UFC since 2020, but he’s about to win the XMMA4 in April of this year. He feels that his skills are successfully transformed into a rustic game.
“I’m even more excited to actually do a naked knuckle because of the fact that I can introduce and remind people why I’m still one of the most dangerous strikers. But I still don’t have the power and I still don’t have the speed and agility to continue the fighting game. I’m going to prove they’re wrong. This is the opportunity I’ve been anxious for. And to prove to people that I’m still a candidate for the top division of any sport, “says John Dodson.
Dodson is already in talks with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) and may be added to the next event at the Rio Rancho Event Center on August 27th. “Oh, that’s great because I’m not defeated in New Mexico, so this will be a great opportunity for me to join another big organization, knuckle up and make a perfect debut.” Said Dodson.
