Johnson County, Kansas (KCTV) — A deputy Sheriff of Johnson County died of cancer.

Blakelind Bloom spent the last five years as an adjutant to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office after working for the Northwest Integrated Fire Department for 11 years.

He started as a volunteer firefighter in 2005 and joined the sheriff’s office in 2015.

“He will be forever remembered and loved by law enforcement brothers and sisters,” the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “Keep his family in your prayers. Thank you to the adjutants of our community for your service! It was an honor to serve with you.”
