It’s a feat to end the safest year on a company record in a year where safety is the highest priority in the world. JP Karen is crazy about sharing with staff and clients. There are two metrics used for safety:
- Incident rate or IR: A measure of the frequency of injuries or illnesses that can be recorded over a specified time period (usually one year).
- Days Away, Restricted or Transferd, or DART: Measures the number of workplace injuries and illnesses an employee needs to take a break from work, do a restricted job, or transfer to another job within a calendar year. Indicator to do.
According to the company’s news release, JP Karen finished the year with 1.59 IR with over 1 million hours of work. This is almost half of the national average of 3.0, and DART is well below the national average of 1.80.
