Williamson County, Tennessee (WKRN) —The Tennessee Court has issued a temporary injunction to revoke Governor Bill Lee’s mask opt-out option for parents with children in Williamson County School and Franklin School District. bottom.

On Friday, the United States District Court for the Central District of Tennessee issued a temporary restraint order prohibiting Lee from enforcing Executive Order 84 at Williamson County School. Lee signed the order in August. This allows parents to voluntarily opt out of their child’s school mask obligations.

The court cited Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508, stating that Universal Mask Mandate is a reasonable accommodation for students with disabilities to access Williamson County School.

Students granted the opt-out option under Executive Order 84 will need to wear the face cover again.

Previously approved religious and medical exemptions will continue to be respected in the district.
