NS. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com)-The Judge of the Thomas Bruce Murder Trial is blocking court documents.
Prosecutors said Friday they would not seek the death penalty for a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman who had been murdered in a religious goods store outside St. Louis.
Bruce was charged with murder in 2018 at a Catholic supply store in St. Louis County. He has also been accused of sexually assaulting two other women.
The judge agreed with Bruce’s lawyer that widespread media coverage could tamper with his right to a fair trial. Judge selection will begin within two weeks.
The judge said that evidence of all trials would be open to the public at the end of the trial.
