Madison, Wisconsin (AP) – Judges in Wisconsin have set the final basic rules of evidence to be granted at the Kyle Rittenhouse trial next week.
A teenager in Illinois shot and killed three and killed two during a protest against police atrocities in Kenosha in August 2020.
He faces multiple crimes, including murder. He claimed to have fired for self-defense.
His trial is scheduled to begin on November 1.
Judge Bruce Schroeder ruled at a hearing on Monday that the defense lawyer could show Rittenhouse a video of the police thanking him for protecting the city’s business and providing him with water.
Lawyers allege that police have shown that Rittenhaus felt that he was acting reasonably.
Schroeder also ruled that experts in the use of defense could testify, but only how quickly the shooting occurred.
