Episode 1: A month after Nelson shot and killed Jesse Saray in 2019, he sat with a lawyer at the Auburn police substation and read a prepared statement about the killing. However, Nelson’s statement on the killing contradicts witnesses’ explanations of important details. The Auburn Reporter obtained the audio of these statements through a request for public records.

Episode 2: This episode explores Nelson’s patterns of violent and illegal activity while working with Auburn police. Records show that Nelson used force against civilians 92 times between May 2011 and November 2018, 57 of which received medical treatment at a higher rate than executives in other departments. Caused the necessary injuries.
