Kansas Department of Labor says vendor changing for benefits debit card – Wichita, Kansas

Topeka, Kansas (KSNW) – The Kansas Department of Labor said Tuesday that claimants receiving unemployment benefits with Bank of America Mastercard will receive a new debit card due to a change in service provider.

After the petitioner has reviewed all pre-acquisition disclosure materials, he or she can choose to change the payment method to direct deposit or receive a new USBank Relia Card® before July 20, 2021.

Recipients who receive benefits by depositing directly into their personal bank account are not affected by this change.

Plaintiffs who are eligible to pay benefits by June 25, 2021 and do not choose to deposit directly will receive a US Bank Relia Card through the United States Postal Service.

Recipients are strongly advised to make sure that KDOL has a valid current address registered.Complainant must log in www.getkansasbenefits.gov Please create an account or call the KDOL Contact Center (785-575-1460) to renew before June 25, 2021.

From June 25, 2021 to July 20, 2021, the claimant will continue to receive KDOL unemployment allowance payments approved with Bank of America debit cards. Funds remaining on your Bank of America debit card cannot be transferred to your new Relia Card. The petitioner must continue to make purchases and withdrawals using a Bank of America debit card (eg ATM withdrawals or ACH transfers to a personal bank account). The claimant’s Bank of America debit card and card account are subject to the terms of the Bank of America cardholder agreement.

Benefits issued after July 20, 2021 will be loaded into the new Relia Card. ReliaCard can be used to make purchases, receive cash and pay invoices wherever Visa® is available.
