Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) — The Kansas Honor Flight 86C returned to Wichita on October 19th today.
Veterans were welcomed to the DoubleTree Hotel by Dwight D. Eisenhower Airport in Wichita.
Veterans flew to Washington, DC yesterday. While there, veterans had the opportunity to visit many different monuments in the national capital for free, along with the Arlington National Cemetery.
Over 100 Vietnam War veterans were welcomed. Michael Larson, a Kansas Honorary Flight volunteer, emphasized the importance of honoring these veterans.
“It’s important for us to recognize veterans,” Larson said. “Especially in Vietnam, it wasn’t recognized when getting off the plane.”
