Kansas tops 400,000 coronavirus cases – Wichita, Kansas

Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) —State health officials have reported more than 400,000 coronavirus outbreaks in Kansas since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Since Monday, 2,562 Kansas have been positive for the virus and 6,663 Kansas have been negative. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports that these positive cases have brought Kansas’ total to 401,931 since early 2020. Of the new cases, 81 have the COVID-19 delta mutation.

The state reports that three more Kansas deaths are associated with COVID-19, and since Monday, another 96 Kansas have been hospitalized with COVID. KDHE does not track recovery.

We will announce coronavirus and vaccine numbers on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On Wednesday, the number of active clusters in the state will also be updated. According to KDHE, Kansas has 223 active clusters, 15 more than last week. Of the active clusters, 72 are in school.

KDHE states that more than 10,000 Kansas have been vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine in the last two days.

  • An additional 3,795 Kansas received the first dose
  • 5,456 people received a second dose
  • And 1,058 people received the third dose

In Kansas, which is eligible for vaccination, 60.75% are considered to have been vaccinated at least once and 53.91% are considered to be fully vaccinated.
