Kanye West lives in an Atlanta stadium while working on his new album.
A representative of the performers said Monday that West would stay in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz stadium while West was working to complete his tenth studio album, Donda. They were not allowed to speak publicly about the issue, so the person spoke to the Associated Press on anonymous terms.
West held a large listening session at the stadium on Thursday and was seen on social media attending a weekend football match.
“Donda”, which was scheduled to be released last Friday, will be released on August 6th.
The Grammy Award-winning album is named after his mother, Donda West, who died of plastic surgery complications in 2007 at the age of 58.
West announced “Donda” in front of a sold-out crowd at the venue after announcing two days ago that the first hearing of the long-awaited album would take place. He said almost no words while introducing his new music during the event. It brought out several celebrities, including Rick Ross, Khloe Kardashian, and his estranged wife Kim Kardashian West, who appeared in a red jumpsuit with the kids.
West’s new project is a follow-up to the 2019 gospel-themed album “Jesus is King,” which won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Album.
Last year, West announced on Twitter that he would release his latest album with colorful cover art and tracklists. At the time, his tweet said his project would be released on the same day as rival Taylor Swift’s project “Folk Lore,” but his album was postponed.
