Lihue, Hawaii (KHON2) — To provide safety to Kauai residents from the epidemic of the coronavirus, Mayor Derek Kawakami signed the 11th Supplementary Emergency Declaration on October 13.
Kauai County (COK) said its 11th proclamation allowed swift action to mitigate the potential impact of COVID-19. This allows the county to proactively establish plans for authorities to mobilize resources, if necessary.

According to COK, the 11th Supplementary Emergency Declaration will end within 60 days from October 13th, or another declaration, whichever comes first.
