Kansas City, Missouri (WDAF) — Father and fiancé died a week ago on Sunday at COVID-19. They want to share his story while his family is dealing with the sudden loss.

“He was a Navy veterinarian,” said Josh Cohen’s fiancé, Kendal Hendrix. “He worked as a sonar technician for 10 years.”

If you met a 36-year-old man, you would know how important he was to be a member of the army, but the main thing he was proud of was Aisa’s dad.

“They were obsessed with each other like their best friends,” Hendrix said.

Hendrix said Cohen’s life changed when Cohen gave birth to his son.

“It seemed that all the bad things in his life had disappeared and all the good things had come together,” Hendrix said.

But COVID-19 broke it apart. Hendrix said it all started with Cohen, who was dehydrated at work. When he went to the hospital, she said he was sent home.

Things got worse and they called an ambulance when he couldn’t accept it.

“When an ambulance came and took him and got out of the car, he felt this was the last time he got home,” Hendrix said.

She said Cohen had been vaccinated once with the COVID-19 vaccine and was waiting for the second vaccination.

In addition to dealing with this sudden loss, she said she was facing financial problems because Cohen worked while at home with Aisa.

“You aren’t planning on these things,” Hendrix said. “I’m not going to lose my house, my car, or the car I was planning for the future.”

There is GoFundMe to help with the cost.
