KDHE reports 26 more COVID deaths, 83 new hospitalizations – Wichita, Kansas

Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) —According to the state, 1,893 Kansas have been positive for coronavirus and 4,646 have been negative in the last two days. Of the recent positive cases, 187 are COVID-19 delta mutants.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) releases updates on coronaviruses and vaccines every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

According to the latest information on Friday, an additional 26 deaths in Kansas are associated with COVID-19, and the state’s death toll has risen to 6,211 since the pandemic began.

Also, since Wednesday, 83 Kansas have been hospitalized with COVID-19. However, KDHE does not track recovery.

Over the past two days, just over 14,000 Kansas have been vaccinated with the coronavirus.

  • Those 3,691 got their first dose
  • An additional 2,830 people received a second dose
  • And 7,495 people received the third dose

Of the Kansas states currently eligible for vaccination, 62.77% have received at least one vaccination and 56.16% have completed the vaccine series.
