KDHE reports 51 more COVID-19 deaths in Kansas, 46 new hospitalizations – Wichita, Kansas

Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) —State health officials have reported that an additional 51 Kansas deaths have been associated with COVID-19 since Friday morning. That brings the state’s death toll to 5,916.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) also reported 46 new hospitalizations over the weekend. KDHE does not track recovery.

Since Friday, 2,462 Kansas have been positive for coronavirus and 6,330 have been negative. Of the new cases, 104 Kansas were diagnosed with the COVID-19 delta mutant. Information by county is included in the chart below.

KDHE says Kansas is still emerging to be vaccinated. Since Friday morning, KDHE has shown that an additional 4,724 Kansas received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 7,402 received the second dose, and 909 received the third dose.

Of the eligible Kansas states, 60.62% have received at least one vaccination and 53.69% have completed COVID-19 vaccination.
