Omaha, Nebraska (KMTV) — It was another chilly day today, but as part of our environmental commitment here in Omaha, we didn’t prevent some people from rolling up their sleeves.
Volunteers, including Turner Construction employees, planted about 115 trees in four different parks on Friday. Omaha Beautiful participated in the event and was sponsored by the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District along with the construction company.
“Since the program started, we have planted a total of more than 450 trees annually, which is to plant replacement trees to replace the ash trees lost by the Emerald Ash Bowler. Approximately 2,800 in the last three years. It’s now a book tree, “says Keep Omaha Beautiful CEO Chris Stratman.
