The Oregon Revenue Department announced later this week that it would begin paying $ 600 in temporary grants to more than 230,000 households in Oregon.

Following House Bill 4157, the Oregon Revenue Department will begin paying one-time grants to Oregon households from the week of June 20-24.

According to the ODR media release, eligible households are eligible for an earned income tax credit from their 2020 tax return and must have been in the state for the past six months.

If possible, payments will be credited directly to the Oregonian bank account, but the department expects to send nearly 100,000 paper checks as well. Households paying by direct deposit will also be notified by mail.

A total of $ 1.41 million is expected to be distributed to 236,000 households in Oregon.
