Kaiser’s Uptown Music staff hosts a travel tuba that raises funds for Salem Symphonic Winds and Marion Polk Food Share.
Salem Symphonic Winds (formerly Salem Concert Band) plans to rekindle the concert season and is working with Marion Pork Foodshare to raise money to make that happen.
“We have tuba visiting companies in different regions and are soliciting donations from the general public. Donations are shared equally with Marion Pork Food Share to bring hungry people in central Willamette Valley. We support their efforts to feed, “says Tonis Skeleton. The band portion of revenue helps cover the cost of a reboot.
For the next two weeks, Tuba will be Kaiser’s 3827 River Road N. It’s in Uptown Music. Future locations will be announced on the band’s social media feed.
The band has been dormant since the COVID hit. Its first concert will be on August 15th at the Youngberg Hill Winery. Tickets are sold at salemsymphonicwinds.org. You can also donate to the band online.
