Oregon outfielder Aaron Zavala from Keizer was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year and became the first duck player to win this award in over 40 years.

Zavala led the conference with an on-base percentage of .525 and 50 steps. He was second in the league with a batting average (.393) and third with a score (64). Zavala also scored 9 home runs and 38 RBIs as he helped the duck finish second at the conference. Oregon also hosted the first regional since 2012 last weekend.

In addition, Zavala was named All-American for the second team by college baseball and was named the semi-finalist of the Golden Spikes Awards, which is given to the best amateur baseball players in the country each year.
