It’s not too crazy to start thinking about the late 2021 release as you slowly begin to move to a slightly more regular version of the movie world. After all, by then most of us should be back in the cinema and comfortable, so of course you might wonder which movie is waiting for us at that time. Especially considering that it will be the beginning of the award season. Well, Focus Features is having a November date for Kenneth Branagh’s new project, Belfast, so I hope one of the flicks comes to mind. Is it an adult fare that sometimes causes Oscars to fall? We will see …
This is a bit from The Hollywood Reporter:
Focus Features has set a November 12 release date for Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast. This Belfast will be shown in US theaters at the heart of the award season.
Written and directed by Blana, Belfast tells the story of a boy’s childhood in the turmoil of the late 1960s in Northern Ireland, where Brana was born. Focus Features will distribute the film in the United States and Universal will be responsible for overseas missions.
Brana describes the film as his most personal thing to date. “It’s about going home-a dramatic journey of excitement, emotion and humor,” the filmmaker said in a previous statement.
Belfast introduces 10-year-old Jude Hill, starring Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan and Ciarán Hinds. Dornan and Balkh play a passionate working-class couple involved in the mayhem, while Dench and Hind are witty grandparents.
