(NEXSTAR) – Can the Colonel hold a wedding?
KFC congratulates the couple on TikTok in their engagement video. In this video, I introduced a groom who proposes by hiding a ring in a KFC biscuit.
“We are always honored to be able to participate in your special moments, celebrations, traditions and memories,” a KFC spokeswoman said in a statement to Nexstar. “We contacted a happy couple and congratulated them on their engagement!”
The prospective groom on NoName123 on TikTok first shared a sweet moment on social media last week with a short video starting with a couple sitting in front of some boxes of KFC takeaway. A TikTok user saw a video of his girlfriend tearing a biscuit and said in an on-screen message, “I told her. [he] I wanted to take a picture with a biscuit. “
She screams when she sees the ring.
“You are making fun of me! What is this?” She asks.
“Please get married?” He replies.
“Are you kidding?” She asks again. “is this a joke?”
The video, which has been watched more than 14.7 million times on TikTok since then, contained a caption confirming that the young woman did “say so.” NoName123 also uploaded a photo of his bride wielding her ring and a follow-up post containing her KFC chicken tenders.
“I never thought I would propose to a dream girl with KFC biscuits,” he writes.
However, TikTok viewers seemed to like the idea, praising his biscuit-based tactics and wanting a similar proposal itself.
“If my future husband doesn’t propose to me with biscuits or other delicious carburetors, I don’t want it,” wrote one commentator.
Others have also begun urging KFC to sponsor a couple’s honeymoon or pay for their ceremonies, but KFC has yet to reveal plans to do so.
“If you don’t respond to their wedding, the internet will never forgive you,” wrote one TikTok user.
