Tucson, Arizona (KGUN) — As the community rebounds, the summer program offers face-to-face learning and fun opportunities. This includes the Fox Tucson Theater, which will host one free event on Saturday, June 26th.
“We want our kids to feel safe, cozy, warm, fun and engaging,” says Jordan Wily Hill of the KIT Youth Arts and Culture Program.
Wiley-Hill is one of many who are preparing to focus on the “Kids in Theater” program over the weekend.
At the event, the Pima County Library will provide free books for children to take home, and library friends will offer “coupons” for free books on sale of their books. Kit Fox guides everyone with songs and dances and presents a collection of films created by Stories that Soar. They are based on the creative writing of local students displayed on a large screen.
There is also a feature film and the award-winning animation “Snail and Whale” (2019). This is a 30-minute story of an unlikely friendship, a fun tour of the world’s natural wonders, and its heroic rescue. It reminds us that even the smallest beings can make a difference.
“There are two programs on the same day, Saturday, June 26th. Each program is limited to a total of 100 people, which means that there is a house that can accommodate 1,164 people, so the capacity is less than 10%. This means that we are all really distributed, “says Wiley-Hill regarding the COVID-19 safety protocol.
The first show is from 10:30 am to 11:30 am and the second is from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
The program may only be one day, but it’s all part of a larger plan to help the community prepare for a future reopening.
“It seems like all these really fun and I hope there is an opportunity for the family to really get up and be more comfortable the way we laid out the program, and those big shows By the time spring comes, they are ready to get together and experience all the joy, wonder and glory that the theater has to offer, especially Fox theaters like these theaters. Hmm.”
