The Mallory Kunze Planetarium at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) offers a glimpse into the unknown world since 1987. Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc. as a key component of the $ 14.5 million construction of the Durham Science Center, designed and built by HDR. The 50-seat planetarium has been entertaining and educating people of all ages for over 30 years.

The planetarium is currently closed for public exhibition for COVID-19, but typically about 10,000 paid guests are seen each year through public and private programs. Schools often carry children’s buses from across Omaha, and sometimes from far to Missouri, to check out the educational and entertaining shows of the planetarium.
