Sequoia National Park is not open to the public and employees living in the park are evacuating. Kings Canyon National Park remains open, but smoke can affect air quality, officials say.

Earlier this week, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office announced evacuation to several communities in the woods after a paradise fire spread west.
Evacuation orders continue to be valid for the Sycamore community and all three rivers from the Mineral King Drive to the boundaries of Sequoia National Park. This includes structures along both sides of highway 198.
It also includes the Oak Grove Bridge to Highway 198, including the Sierra King Driver, Crest Lane, Hammond Drive, and Oak Grove Drive.
Evacuation alerts have been issued from Old Three Rivers Road and Blossom Drive to South Fork Drive and from Highway 198 to Mineral King Drive (including North Fork Drive).
Warnings have also been issued for all structures within Dr. Edison, Dr. Cherokee Oaks, Dr. Crystal, Dr. Grouse, Dr. Elk, Dr. Meadow, Dr. Quail, Dr. Oakridge, Dr. Ferndale, and Dr. Terminus. .. , Dr. Pierce, Red Tail Lane.
These new orders and warnings were issued in addition to the existing evacuation orders for communities along Mineral King Road.

The Red Cross is ready to provide food, water and resources to those displaced by the fire.
