Seattle — The latest NHL team, Seattle Kraken, has an official roster.
On Wednesday, Kraken selected 30 news players for the next opening season of the NHL Expansion Draft. This required a minimum of 14 forwards, 9 defenses, 3 goalkeepers, and 4 additional players.
Colorado Avalanche has left behind some of Seattle’s big names to choose from, including captains Gabriel Landescog, Joonas Donskoi, JT Compher, Eric Johnson, and Jacob MacDonald.
Kraken couldn’t reach an agreement with Randeskog, so instead they chose Donskoy, a sixth-year player who finished his second year in Colorado.
Donskoy boasted a career record of 19 points and a 19.8 shot rate in 51 games this season.
The move also robbed Avalanche’s salary cap of $ 3.9 million in the next two seasons and opened more than $ 30 million to Avs to spend on Landeskog, defensive Kale Macar, or goalkeeper Philip Gurubauer.
