Lake Erie beach hazard: High risk of rip currents reported – Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland (WJW) – National Weather Service Lake erie Saturday afternoon.

Hazards are occurring in Kaiyahoga, Ashtabula, and Lake counties until late tonight. People are urged to stay out of the water as winds and waves can cause rip currents in the area.

“Ocean currents can carry swimmers off the shore through sandbars and along structures that extend to the lake.” The National Weather Service warned.

Beach hazards may need to be extended until Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures this weekend are not expected to exceed the 70s.
