Las Vegas (KLAS) — A 28-year-old Las Vegas man was sentenced to 46 months in prison on Wednesday after pleading guilty to firearms.
In January, Derrick Simmons pleaded guilty to one of the serious offenders in possession of a gun. The weapon was used in an attempted robbery, according to a news release from the US Attorney General’s Office.
Judge Gloria M. Navarro of the US District Court sentenced Simmons to a serious conviction in Clark County for robbery and a battery with deadly weapons.
Metro police have recovered a .22 caliber semi-automatic firearm from a Simmons vehicle.
The case was investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
