Las Vegas (KTNV) — This year’s New Year’s Eve will not have a major fireworks display on Las Vegas Boulevard, but will be closed on New Year’s Eve.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the world-famous Las Vegas Strip will be closed on New Year’s Eve.

The strip will be closed from Spring Mountain Road to Russell Road. Previously, it was closed from Sahara Avenue to Russell Road.

In addition, Las Vegas police officers who patrol the strip are fewer because they expect fewer people in the area, but the same number of police officers work in the Las Vegas valley.
