Omaha, Nebraska (KMTV)-Nebraska Patrols, Iowa Patrols, and South Dakota Highway Patrols team up on the Memorial Day weekend, one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
The partnership includes high-visibility patrols on the region’s busiest highways, including Highways 20 and 81 in Nebraska.
Nebraska Troopers also focused on DUI crackdowns in several counties in northeastern Nebraska, conducted vehicle inspections near recreation areas in several states, and worked with Nebraska games and park officials. And keep visitors in the state park safe.
South Dakota and Iowa troopers will implement similar traffic controls in their respective states.
Colonel Dane Hicks, commander of Unit B in the northeastern part of Nebraska, said: “This initiative is a continuation of our partnership to encourage and maintain safe travel conditions for drivers in all three states.”
