No action from the city is imminent
KOIN, Oregon — Residents of the Lenz district have gathered to save a skatepark built by the community to replace tents, needles, night soil, and anything else that was in the space.
The skatepark was built without permission and attracted the attention of the city authorities.
“We all want to stay in the park and build a safe space for the community,” said Alex Janega, a skateboarder working in the park.
Officials at Portland Parks and Wreck said the safety of KOIN 6 News was a top priority, no decisions were made about skateparks, and no action from the city was imminent.
